Following a weekend long camp the prospects of the Vancouver Canucks take to the ice this evening in Camrose Alberta. The Canuck hopefuls will face the Calgary Flames prospect tonight and the Edmonton Oilers contingent of youngsters on Tuesday evening.
As for some notables from the Canucks camp...
It appears that coach Alain Vigneault is very impressed with 18-year-old Cody Hodgson. One report from camp even indicated that Vigneault is going to push to have the youngster start the season with the big club.
Also battling to make an impression is 2006 1st rounder Michael Grabner who came to Vancouver early this summer to begin his off-season training as well as goaltender Cory Schneider who may be looking to impress some scouts outside the Canucks organization.

i honestly think the canucks should trade luongo, think of what they could get for him, they could probably trade luongo for kovalchuk straight up at the deadline, or get some many players. especially since schnieder should be good to go soon, hes solid. then you can sign a half way decent goalie somewhere. just a thought
or they could resign him which would make more sense since HE'S ONE OF THE BEST FUCKING GOALTENDERS IN LEAGUE AND THOSE AREN'T TOO EASY TO COME BY.
ya but being the best goaltender on a team that doesnt make the playoffs sucks. and vancouver doesnt look like the yare going to make it this year either, theres no sence keeping someone at thier best if your team is shit, get some something for him, just like Kaberle on the leafs, hes awesome, but the leafs arent gonna be good until hes going downhill, so why not trade him and get something for him.
oh and i wasnt saying have no one in net, im saying you sign someone else, theres plenty of good ones around. i.e. many fernendez is looking for a team, roloson, those type of guys. no they wont stack up to Luongo, but the sedins are the only people that can score on your team.
First of it's not my team. Second off the Canucks are in an easy as pie division and they will make the playoffs. Third off you put your team so far behind the curve getting rid of your number one goalie and have no one who is fit to jump into the role. Schneider is still a year or two away from being a back up so what are you going to do make Sanford your starter?
look at what i just said...theres plent of goalies around the league that are awesome. ar eyou really telling me if you had a Kovalchuk for Luongo deal on the table, you wouldnt take it?
and if the division was "easy as pie" why didnt they make it last year?
Luongo to the Leafs for Toskala, Antropov, White, and a 1st in 2010.
^Yeah that's it, Luongo will want to go from the likely to make the playoffs Canucks to the piece of shit Maple Leafs. I seriously hope you're joking about that trade offer.
canucks arent gonna make the playoffs...they didnt improve at all.
