As per the Miami Herald.
Keith Ballard just agreed to a six-year extension with the Florida Panthers. Ballard was acquired with Nick Boynton in exchange for Olli Jokinen.
Ballard will make $2.5 million this coming season; it is believed the six-year deal is likely worth more than $4 million per season.
Ballard, 25, played 82 games with the Coyotes last season, registering 21 points. He had a career-best 39 points in 2005-06.
Good move by Jacques Martin as he wants to avoid another Bouwmeester saga.
