The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed unrestricted free agent defenceman Marek Malik to a one-year contract, worth a pro-rated $1.2-million for the 2008-2009 season.

The money seems kinda low. I thought his play in New York was worth much more then that.
Tampa's ownership told their coach he needs to play Stamkos more. This totally goes against asll unwritten rules when it comes to stepping on your coaches toes. I think this is going to blow up if the owners don't stay up in the box and let the GM and Coach do what they were hired to do!

They clearly brought him in simply to score highlight reel goals in the shoot-out. lol...
I think they would have been better off with a puck mover like Bryan Berard.
