News out of Van City

Here we go, its obvious that the Canucks are still waiting on Sundin, but if he doesnt sign look for the Canucks to make a number of moves right after. Sundin is a domino, and once he falls then everything will begin to fall into place. I highly believe that the Canucks will not land Sundin, but will aquire Mathieu Schnieder very quickly, which means that either Bieksa or Salo could be headed out of town. If Salo is willing to waive his no trade clause look for him to possibly be traded to Ottawa in a deal for Vermette, or Bieksa to be traded to Carolina in a deal for Justin Williams, or to New Jersey in a deal for Brian Gionta. I think there is also a very high possiblity that the Canucks may target Martin Havlat, as the Blackhawks need to unload some cap, and he has a 1 year contract so if it works they can sign an extention, or Gillis can next season look at aquiring the likes of a Marian Hossa or Marian Gaborik. Either way, I believe that the Canucks will do something before the season regardless, its only a matter of Sundin making his decision.

On somewhat of a side note I also believe that the Sundin will make his announcement this week in Toronto. Lets cross our fingers and hope that this saga can finally end.

Am i the only one who finds it extremely annoying when people try to sound "cool" and "with it" by referring to cities by all these little nicknames. O-town for Ottawa, "the Peg" for Winnipeg and Van City for Vancouver ect. Is this a hip-hop site/blog or a hockey one?

I can see Buffalo getting into Bieksa talks. Buffalo tried to acquire him at the draft but would not part with Drew Stafford.

that is just plain dumb. the ducks need to "DUMP" slary for selanne so the canucks will take it off their hands and still be nice enough to give the ducks a good defenceman? get freakin real or better still how about actually thinking about stuff before you make those dumb rumours.

why trade bieksa?

Williams for Bieksa will not happen. We need Justin Williams more than Bieksa.

I think Gillis will do something that involves trading Bieksa for a young unproven forward. I think it would be great if Salo would agree to be traded, but I dont think he will. I would definately want to keep him on the Canucks if it werent for all those injuries he is bound to get. Unless Sundin signs, I think Canuck fans can expect a first line of Sedin/Bernier and a revolving second line of their young forwards.

Umm couple of things. I am just telling you what I have heard, so if you dont believe it dont read it. As for the idiot that said this "that is just plain dumb. the ducks need to "DUMP" slary for selanne so the canucks will take it off their hands and still be nice enough to give the ducks a good defenceman?" Schnieder, its not like where just giving some defenseman, so I donno what your talking about. Read before you talk. I never said what the Canucks would give up, but they might aquire him so that they could trade one of their D-Men. Also its not like I want to see Bieksa gone, he's my favourite D-Man but he a good asset, and a lot of teams have interest in him, that yes a top 6 maybe moved to aquire him. Anymore questions?
