I heard he was traded NO IDEA where!

I heard he was traded for khabibulin and some other 34yr old scrub defensemen. They then traded 2 more top prospects to the Ducks for Matt Schneider, just to be sure they make it to the cap floor.

hockeyleaks is reporting that Habs and Kings are in talks for O'Sullivan. If Patrick is moved look for Cliff to swoop in there and try to steal O'Sullivan.

Pominville sets extension deadline

WGR has learned that Jason Pominville has set a Friday deadline to get a deal done with the Sabres. Agent Norman DuPoint said he and Pominville have agreed they do not want negotiations going on once Pominville gets to camp.

DuPont said they don't want distractions going into the season, and that the Sabres are aware of both the decision and the deadline. He declined to discuss specifics about the talks, but said both sides want a long-term deal. DuPont would not handicap the chances of reaching an agreement on Friday.

DuPont said the sides will speak every day this week.

Would be a sweet deal....

O'Sullivan for Higgins

Pretty much a sideways deal for both teams......gives Montreal a right handed sniper on the wing....

Who knows if that rumor is true....

Fred Poulin said...

Gainey won't trade Higgins for O'Sullivan now that he got Lang who is also a right hand shooter.

Anonymous said...

Then Gainey is stupid..

and O'Sullivan is left handed...

Jarret Stoll and Brad Richardson's signings were made official today.

O'Sullivan is lefthanded, then there is no point to the trade...

O'Sullivan may have a little more offensive upside than Higgins, but the intangibles that Higgins brings far outweigh any trade....

And another thing, just because Gainey got Lang who is a right shot doesn't mean who wouldn't look at getting another...of the top nine forwards, only Lang is a right shot......it's always useful to have an offensive winger who is a right handed shot, just adds a different dimension for the offensive zone..
