Pominville getting an extension soon

Jason Pominville is on the verge of signing a long term contract of at least five years and between $5-$6 million with the Buffalo Sabres. This should go down before training camp as the Sabres prefer to negociate before the season.

Pommer, 25, had a career-year last season registering 27 goals and 80 points in 82 games. Briere and Drury's departures gave Jason the chance to show his skills and he, along with Derek Roy, are now the face of the franchise.

Expect Pominville's numbers to improve again this year, and a 90 point-season is not impossible.

as a former Sabres blogger and someone with decent ties to Poms, things are going pretty well in negotiations and Ill be surprised if hes not locked up in time for the season.
