The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have signed center Tim Brent to a one-year contract.
Brent, 24, was acquired by the Blackhawks from the Penguins in exchange for d-man Danny Richmond on July 17. Brent has recorded one goal in 16 career NHL games, which no point in one game with the Penguins last year. He also played 15 games with the Anaheim Ducks during the 2006-07 campaign.
A career AHLer, Brent has tallied 133 points (54 goals, 79 assists) and 193 PIM in 205 career AHL games.
