Jeff O'Neill is back practicing in Raleigh with current and former Hurricanes in a informal camp held by Rod Brind'amour.
O'Neill has looked very strong and very focussed in the early going, earning the praise of Brind'amour who stated "He looks just like he did when he left."
O'Neill still has not signed a contract, but looks very likely to get one this season after training camp. Should he join the 'Canes, expect him to be pencilled in on the third line next to Matt Cullen and Scott Walker

Good for him. Always thought he was grossly misused in Toronto. I think the Leafs had a really good player here. Paul Maurice had it in for him from the get-go, pair that with some personal issues, and Jeff was never allowed to show the Maple Leafs organization what he could really do.
Why do I cheer for a team that mismanages its players so much. If the Leafs were any other team, with this kind of management, thy would have gone bankrupt by now.
^ i disagree...i reallly like O'neil but man the amount of times that guy missed open nets...i swear he had 20 goals each season with the lefs but he could have easily had 35+ so many nights he would miss on open nets by a mile, and it was always at the worst times, when we need the goal to tie or win in OT, he just seemed to get all his goals when we were losing 6-0.
