First Things first the Rangers are hot after Sundin but it is being told to me that Scott Gomez will NOT be moved to create space for Sundin.
On Shanny: Shanahan is getting really disturbed by the fact the Rangers are taking so long. He is now going ahead and exploring other options. My source told me he's heard the Leafs,Habs(Yes AGAIN) and the St.Louis Blues. The Blues are said to be the team the most interested in shanny's services.

if he doesn't want to wait, he'll go to st. louis..
if he waits, he'll go to NYR or MTL (whoever doesn't get sundin)
i don't see how the leafs fit here..
shanny will not end up in a leaf jersey my pick is nyr after they dump gomez, sundin retires
This would be a great move for TO as they are really lacking in the leadership department...potentially a 2nd/3rd liner....would be great on the top pp line at the point, he'd come cheap and after McCabe is gone....we'll still have enough to carry over for next year.
if the leafs wanted leadership, they would make a better pitch to sundin - the mark messier leadership award winner!
If the Rangers trade Gomez to accomodate Shanny that is a freaking disaster. If we can get Sundin though I'm all for it
