Trade rumors

A few trade rumors from around the league:

The Penguins are reportedly interested in Nashville's Martin Erat. The Preds are asking for 2-3 young players in return. Alex Goligoski would be one of them.

The Vancouver are interested in Flyers' forward Jeoffrey Lupul, they would send Matthias Ohlund in return (he as a no-trade clause though). The Flyers would prefer to send Mike Knuble.

Kari Lehtonen is rumored to be on the block. He will start the Thrashers' next game as Ondrej Pavelec was to the AHL. The Thrashers are looking for a young forward in return.

The Senators are quietly shopping Mike Fisher, who's starting to heat up at just the right time for Bryan Murray. The Sens are looking for defensive depth. Forget about the Spezza for Khabibulin, it's just a dumb rumor.

The Maple Leafs are not shopping Jeff Finger contrary to the rumors around the league. With Van Ryn's injury look for Finger to get an increased workload. The Leafs are shopping Ian White and Carlo Colaiacovo. The Blues are interested in Colaiacovo.

Brendan Shanahan will make his decision this week, maybe even on Wednesday.
Shanny wants to play for a team from the Northeast to be close to his family in NY. However, the Flyers, Hawks, Blues, Devils and Senators have shown interest in him. My bet is on the Devils, as New Jersey's offense has been lackluster recently.

Pretty sure "The Vancouver"(???) isn't interested in Lupul. Why would we trade for another forward who consistently under-achieves, when we already have Pyatt and Wellwood. And there is NO way we give up one of our most consistently strong d-men to get him.

If Fisher is being shopped - what could he fetch the sens?

Because they are also shopping Taylor Pyatt, Lupul would take Pyatt's spot.

Fisher won't fetch a good return unless he improves his consistency and offensive production. His salary makes is hard to move. However, he could fetch a 3rd-4th defenseman with a similar salary and a prospect.

Would a Seabrook for Fisher deal make sense? or a Fisher for Barker + (Brouwer or Skille)?
