Canucks put Wellwood on waivers

The Vancouver Canucks have put forward Kyle Wellwood on waivers on Friday. Wellwood was claimed off waivers from Toronto this summer.

Wellwood played only 1 game this season with the Canucks, being a healthy scratch 3 times.

I would be surprised if Wellwood finds any taker, but maybe Atlanta or NYIslanders might be interested.

How many more chances will he get? If he gets picked up by some other team (in desperation), they should know that Canucks had a lot of control over him. Such as making sure he was working out the way they wanted and even preparing and delivering all his meals.
This is a guy who needs to tough it out in the minors, to learn the value of hard work and learn you only get what you deserve. Get a clue Wellwood!

A total waste of space in the NHL, talk about reputation and a name getting you places in the NHL, there are a slew of ECHL players who could do a better job. Money he is playing in the KHL or Germany next year.

It was a year ago that the Leafs were hoping that Wellwood would become their future 2nd Line Center but he cant even make the roster these days....
