Canucks vs. Ducks Pre-Game Warm-up

The Canucks take to the ice tonight against the Ducks in as they attempt to secure a undefeated pre-season record. Alain Vigneault and his staff have reduced their roster to a total of 26 player with decisions forthcoming in the next 24 hours as to who's in and who's out.

Out of the line-up tonight are d-men Rob Davison and Lukas Krajieck along with forward Cody Hodgson, Matt Pettinger, Rick Rypien and Ryan Johnson. With the announcement of Hodgson signing earlier in the day and him not taking on the Ducks tonight it may be fair to assume that the 18 year-old has made enough of an impression to stick with the club, at least for the start of the season.

Canucks lost Nathan McIver to the Ducks yesterday as Brian Burke picked up the rugged defenceman off waivers. Also on the outside looking in are Nolan Baumgartner who has cleared waivers and is in Manitoba and Jeff Cowan who has also cleared waivers.

Something else to note going into tonight's contest is goaltender and captain Roberto Luongo has now painted a 'C' on the front of his mask.

Interesting for the whole painted 'C' topic, a lot of writers were predicting that would happen, since the NHL can't prevent that.

A C on his Helmet that's ridiculous. Is Loungo not thinking, does he not realize, this will destroy the very foundation the NHL stands on. The media frenzy will now begin "Bettman losing control of NHL" Bettman will have to step down Avery will take over. How will Grapes sleep at night. CBC will drop hockey night in Canada. Any how the only ridiculous part of the C on his helmet is it should be on his jersey. The league needs to relook at the rule and make some adjustments. As far as the Nay sayers They should think before they talk ( their brain could use the exercise)
