Florida Panthers D-Man Brian McCabe may have suffered a broken back after going hard into the boards with Hurricanes player Dennis Seidenberg. At least 1 vertebrae appears broken.

New York Islanders Goaltender Rick DiPietro who missed the first game of the season while recovering from a knee injury got some unwanted news, it appears as though he has some swelling and fluid around his surgically repaired knee. Their has yet to be a timeline for his return.
