Around the Hawks

The Chicago Blackhawks have assigned defensemen Cam Barker and Aaron Johnson, as well as goaltender Anti Niemi to the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs. In addition, the Blackhawks have released center Kevyn Adams who was on try-out.

The BlackHawks kept Nikolai Khabibulin in the NHL in order to work a deal with a NHL or KHL team. Cam Barker is in the same situation as Bobby Ryan of the Ducks. As soon as GM Dave Tallon finds a taker fo the Bulin Wall, then the Hawks will be able to call Barker up.
